Deck overview

This deck is a high-cost Grixis midrange and reanimator strategy piloted by Sauron, Lord of the Rings. Its primary strategy focuses on early-game mana development and hand-filtering, discarding impactful creatures into the graveyard before deploying overwhelming mid-to-late game threats. Casting Sauron on Turn 6 provides immediate board presence through a 9/9 trampling body, a 5/5 Orc Army, and a reanimated creature directly from the graveyard. Secondary synergies leverage the Amass Orcs mechanic, the Ring Tempts You triggers, and broad reanimation engines like Living Death and Reanimate. While the deck produces substantial board presence and generates resilient creature value, it operates on a standard casual combat clock, taking multiple combat steps to defeat three opponents and leaving windows vulnerable to opposing combo finishes and targeted graveyard interaction.
