Deck overview

This deck is an oppressive Orzhov Stax and Group Slug deck commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary strategy focuses on deploying disruptive hatebears, tax effects, and Rule of Law pieces early to constrain opponents' mana, cast counts, and draw engines. Cards like Archon of Emeria, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Suppression Field, and Spirit of the Labyrinth paralyze fast combo and storm strategies. As opponents struggle against these symmetric restrictions, Liesa breaks parity by draining 2 life for every spell cast while bypassing commander tax through life payments. Card advantage engines such as The One Ring, Trouble in Pairs, and Black Market Connections replenish resources under stax locks. The primary win condition transitions from attrition into a decisive combo finish using Bolas's Citadel, Sensei's Divining Top, and Aetherflux Reservoir, generating arbitrary storm and life to eliminate the table on Turn 5.
