Deck overview

This mono-black artifact deck leverages Illuminor Szeras as a high-velocity mana engine, converting high-cost artifact creatures and prototype spells into explosive bursts of black mana. By sacrificing utility creatures and large constructs, the deck fuels powerful draw engines like Grim Haruspex and Skullclamp while building up a lethal graveyard. On Turn 5, it pivots to critical onset by casting game-altering spells such as Living Death, Their Number Is Legion, or massive threats like Ancient Stone Idol and Metalwork Colossus. Opponents are pressured on two axes: devastating combat swings and unavoidable life drain from Psychomancer, Disciple of the Vault, and Susurian Voidborn. With deep reanimation packages, the deck shrugs off board wipes and consistently closes out games across two combat cycles by Turn 7.
