Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue tempo and combo strategy led by Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive. Tetsuko grants innate unblockability to creatures with power or toughness 1 or less, turning small utility creatures and ninjas into guaranteed combat damage engines. By pairing these unblockable attackers with 'curiosity' and coastal piracy effects such as Bident of Thassa, Coastal Piracy, and Reconnaissance Mission, the deck generates massive recurring card advantage starting on Turn 4. Rather than relying on combat damage to grind through 120 opponent life, the deck uses its vast card flow to dig into compact win conditions, including the infinite mana combo of Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal, Enter the Infinite, or drain payoffs like Psychosis Crawler and Throne of the God-Pharaoh, closing with Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac. Asymmetric tools like Meekstone and Back to Basics slow opponents down, while a dense counterspell suite protects the combo finish.
