Deck overview

This Grixis deck is commanded by Wick, the Whorled Mind and focuses on Rat tribal synergies and aristocrats burn. The game plan revolves around casting low-cost Rats to continuously pump a central Snail token, which Wick can fling at opponents for simultaneous table-wide direct damage and massive card draw. The deck supplements this burn engine with aggressive swarm payoffs like Valley Rotcaller, Lord Skitter, Sewer King, and Vren, the Relentless, which generate large token armies and drain opposing life totals. Solid black removal spells and asymmetric sweepers like Raise the Palisade clear opposing boards to ensure Rat attacks connect. While the deck boasts immense card draw and fluid recovery through tribal density, its reliance on keeping Wick on the board with minimal countermagic makes it vulnerable to well-timed spot removal and creature sweepers.
