Deck overview

This mono-blue control deck uses Azami, Lady of Scrolls to convert a critical mass of cheap Wizards into overwhelming card advantage. By deploying early utility Wizards on Turns 1 through 3, the deck immediately draws multiple cards the moment Azami enters on Turn 5. It uses this continuous flow of cards to fuel a dense suite of counterspells, bounce spells, and protective interaction. Once the table is stabilized, the deck transitions into its win conditions around Turn 7. It closes games through asymmetric board resets like Cyclone Summoner, passive drain from Psychosis Crawler, mass mill via The Water Crystal and Maddening Cacophony, or self-mill victories using Laboratory Maniac and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. The deck balances permission control with tribal synergy, generating high card velocity while keeping mana open for defensive responses.
