Deck overview

Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald is the engine of a Gruul exile-cast deck: every spell cast from exile makes Wolf tokens, and the deck is built to chain impulse effects into a wide board. The primary finish is Natural Order sacrificing a Wolf to put Craterhoof Behemoth into play for a trampling alpha strike; Apex Devastator and Etali, Primal Conqueror provide cascade/value backup wins. Purphoros, God of the Forge and Impact Tremors turn the token swarm into direct damage. Faldorn is single-faced, so there is no double-faced commander to weigh; among the DFCs, Etali, Primal Conqueror is the closest to a hidden commander because the deck can ramp into it and use its cast-from-exile trigger to chain spells.
