Deck overview

This Boros midrange deck is commanded by Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and centers on deploying high-impact Angels, establishing board control through lifegain, and closing the game with doubled combat damage. Early turns focus on developing mana via 2–3 CMC artifacts like Boros Signet and Talisman of Conviction while setting up defensive barriers such as Ghostly Prison and Wall of Omens. Mid-game play transitions into deploying formidable airborne threats including Lyra Dawnbringer, Aurelia, the Warleader, and Resplendent Angel. Resolving Gisela, Blade of Goldnight on Turn 6 creates an asymmetric damage state that halves incoming damage while doubling all damage dealt to opponents. This multiplier allows the deck to eliminate players within two to three combat swings. The deck also includes alternate lifegain win conditions like Felidar Sovereign and reanimation options like Defy Death. However, it operates with minimal card draw and no creature tutors, leaving it reliant on top-decked threats and vulnerable to sustained board wipes.
