Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan midrange control strategy led by Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa that wins by distributing poison counters and compounding them with proliferate effects. In the early game, cheap toxic and infect creatures establish poison counters across all three opponents to enable the Corrupted mechanic. Once online, Ixhel generates substantial card advantage by exiling playable cards from opponents' libraries each turn cycle. A layered suite of pillowfort enchantments and stax creatures—such as Phyrexian Censor, Blind Obedience, and Ghostly Prison—buys time and stifles opposing burst turns while protecting the pilot's life total. Decisive late-game finishers like Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Phyrexian Swarmlord, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician rapidly proliferate the table to the lethal 10-poison threshold. Backed by elite phase-out protection spells, the deck maintains an inevitable and resilient clock.
