Deck overview

Karona, False God leads a five-color forced combat and political token deck. The primary strategy revolves around encouraging or forcing opponents to attack each other using goad effects, shared threats like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos and Rite of the Raging Storm, and pillowfort tools like Assault Suit and Maze of Ith. As opponents whittle down each other's life totals, the deck accumulates a swarm of tokens from triggers like Felidar Retreat, Monastery Mentor, and Tendershoot Dryad. The deck clinches victory by unleashing Karona or Avatar of Slaughter to boost an unblockable token swarm, or by punishing an opponent's desperate final strike with Inkshield.
