Format: Commander

Commander: Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Y'shtola, Night's Blessed is an Esper control-drain deck that makes every MV3+ noncreature spell into a small Shock plus card draw. The primary plan is to protect Y'shtola, then multiply her with Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, Extravagant Replication, and Rite of Replication so each instant/sorcery drains for multiples of 2. Sakashima works as a hidden commander, supplying the legend-rule exemption. Secondary wins are token beats from Murmuring Mystic/Hermes and X-drains such as Debt to the Deathless or Mind Grind. The deck uses counters, exile removal, Ghostly Prison/Propaganda, and Rhystic Study/Arcane Melee to reach the late-game cloning turn.
