Deck overview

MacCready, Lamplight Mayor leads a low-to-the-ground Orzhov aggro-aristocrats deck centered on low-power creatures. MacCready grants skulk to attackers with power two or less, ensuring small creatures bypass large blockers while taxing high-power retaliation. The deck generates steady life loss through attack triggers from creatures like Mardu Shadowspear, Sanguine Syphoner, and Vicious Conquistador. Once opponents are weakened, the strategy shifts toward sacrificing the board into aristocrats pieces like Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Zulaport Cutthroat. Mass recursion spells like Raise the Past, Return to the Ranks, and Ascend from Avernus rebuild the engine and deliver the final burst of lethal drain.
