Deck overview

This Gruul deck utilizes Cait, Cage Brawler as an aggressive combat engine that filters cards and grows through +1/+1 counters. By attacking with Cait early and discarding high-mana-value threats like Titanoth Rex and Bookwurm, you consistently grow Cait into a massive threat while filling the graveyard with recursion targets. The deck builds on this foundation with powerful +1/+1 counter synergies from Halana and Alena, Partners and Forgotten Ancient, while granting trample via Brawn and Kessig Wolf Run. Although the deck lacks fast mana, nonland tutors, and dedicated stax pieces, its high density of independently dangerous stompy creatures ensures steady board presence. Sweepers like Blasphemous Act and power-based bite spells clear opposing blockers so your enlarged attackers can eliminate opponents across consecutive combat steps.
