Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul combat aggro deck built around General Marhault Elsdragon. The strategy turns the blocking step into a massive liability for opponents. By combining Marhault's ability to give +3/+3 per blocker with 'must-be-blocked' effects such as Taunting Elf, Prized Unicorn, and Lure, the deck forces opposing creatures to gang-block a single designated creature. When that blocked creature gets enormous, trample enablers like Archetype of Aggression and Proud Wildbonder allow the rest of your board to swing freely for lethal damage. The deck features a resilient suite of instant-speed protection tricks like Tyvar's Stand and Gaea's Gift to protect its attackers. Its primary limitations are low card draw velocity and minimal interaction against opposing noncreature combos, making it a linear, proactive combat deck.
