Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Garland, Royal Kidnapper is a midrange theft deck. Its primary plan is to cast Garland, point the crown at an opponent, and steal a creature whenever someone else takes the monarchy; stolen bodies become 4/4s that can't be sacrificed. Secondary paths use permanent theft and clones (Agent of Treachery, Thief of Sanity, Gonti, Mockingbird) and graveyard mass-reanimation (Breach the Multiverse, Rise of the Dark Realms, Sepulchral Primordial). There is no true hidden commander, but The Cyber-Controller acts as the explosive payoff, turning a large X into a buffed Cyberman army. The usual finish is one mass board swing after a 7-9 mana payoff, with Garland acting as the force-multiplying anthem and the monarch trigger as the repeatable theft engine.
