Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue tempo and control strategy commanded by Ultros, Obnoxious Octopus. The main plan relies on casting 4-mana noncreature spells to trigger Ultros, tapping and locking down key opposing creatures with stun counters while advancing its own board. The deck relies heavily on traditional creature theft, bounce effects, and countermagic to control the pace of the table. Without dedicated ramp or fast artifact mana, it plays strictly on curve, making natural land drops to cast mid-sized evasive threats such as Archetype of Imagination, All-Seeing Arbiter, and The Mindskinner. Win conditions center around grinding down three opponents using unblockable or flying combat damage, occasionally augmented by Octopus Umbra. While resilient against single-threat commanders thanks to heavy single-target suppression, the deck's low mana acceleration, absence of tutors, and slow combat clock make closing games against multiple opponents a multi-turn grind.
